Reports to: Program Supervisor or Program Director
FSLA status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
A Crisis Stabilizer with RISE Youth & Family Services is an employee who develops a one-on-one relationship with youth on his/her assigned case load to provide the youth and family with support and intervention during crisis situations. The interventions and services are focused on the youth’s needs and are guided by a treatment plan developed by the team working with the youth. A mentor is an employee who develops a relationship with an individual and provides support, role modeling and guidance with the goal of helping the individual achieve personal goals.
Essential Function/Responsibilities
- Meet with the youth to develop rapport and focus on crisis prevention skills
- Coordinate with the other professionals on the team as well as with the family
- Attend client meetings as needed
- (Crisis Stabilizer)Respond to calls from school, community and/or home to intervene during crisis situations
- Complete 30-40 hours of initial training and 10 hours of training per year thereafter
- Complete all required agency documentation in a timely manner
- There is an on-call component to this position
- Attend all required staff meetings
Requirements
- 21 years of age
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
- Good driving record
- Must have safe and reliable vehicle and ability to provide proof of auto insurance
- Completion of all required background checks
- Experience working with youth in a formal or informal setting
- Completion of required training (20-40 hours depending on experience)
Pay based on experience and education ($18-$23/hour)
